Consumables (e.g. tape, adhesives, packaging, etc.) are commonly used within all types of hardware products. Anything that can be "consumed" in an effort to create or build a product can be included within your Bill of Material (BOM) in Duro. While it's not common to model consumables in a design tool, it is typical for a company to incorporate the consumable items into the BOM within a PLM system, often after syncing part and assembly data from a design tool. Duro allows users to add consumables manually into their BOMs quickly and easily wherever necessary. Consumables can be added manually or through a spreadsheet import using the appropriate Duro category for each item. Here are the component categories for common “consumables" that Duro provides out-of-the-box:
