How to use the Import from File feature
There are three ways to integrate a component into your Duro account: importing from file, importing from vendor, and creating manually. This article delves into the process of importing your components from a spreadsheet file; it's as simple as uploading your BOM to Duro and selecting the fields to be mapped.
How to use the Import from File feature
Duro has a powerful yet simple spreadsheet-importing functionality. Using spreadsheet files (.csv, .xls, .xlsx) you can create new parts and assemblies and update existing parts and assemblies.
Please follow the instructions below to import a component from a spreadsheet file:
- Log into your Duro account.
- In the left navigation, select Components.
- Select the Import from File icon. A window titled "Import Components from a File" will populate.
- In the “Upload your File” section, select the radio bubble for either “Create New Components” or “Update Existing Library Components.”
- Drag files to upload or browse your computer to upload from a file (xlsx, csv).
- If you need a template, there are three for you to choose from: Creating New Components, Update Existing Components, or Creating or Updating Assemblies. All three templates are also linked directly below the file dropbox.
- Select Create.
Please note that you cannot update existing components and assemblies in the same upload as creating new components and assemblies. Only one import type (create new or update existing) per upload is permitted. Existing components and assemblies can be updated in one upload; however, creating new components and assemblies must be performed in a separate upload. Designate your import type by selecting the radio button for either option in the import module before uploading your spreadsheet.
