Duro provides a convenient way for SolidWorks PDM and CAD users to release SolidWorks files to Duro’s cloud-based PLM. For existing users of the Duro - SolidWorks integration, the first step is to delete your current installation folder before downloading and installing the latest version. If you are a first-time user, you can skip the folder deletion step and proceed directly with the installation instructions outlined below.

How to install the latest SolidWorks MSI
Installing the latest version of the Duro add-in for SolidWorks automatically deletes your existing add-in file and upgrades you to the most recent version. However, if you experience issues with this process, please refer to the “Troubleshooting Loading and Login Errors related to Updating your SolidWorks MSI”’ section of our SolidWorks Troubleshooting Guide.
Please ensure that SolidWorks is closed before installing the latest SolidWorks MSI. Then, follow the below steps:
- Navigate to your dashboard and open the latest zip file.
- In the initial module that populates, click on Next.
- Download the latest version and run the install file locally.
- Open your local downloads folder.
- Use 7-Zip to extract the file.
- In the initial module that populates, click on Next.
- Ensure that the correct folder is selected for the installation, then click on Next.
- Open the Duro Dashboard and check the URL of the application.
- If your URL matches https://mfg.duro.app/dashboard no action is needed; click Next.
- If your URL does not start with https://mfg.duro.app/, please (1) copy and paste your URL into the Duro Domain field in the installer and (2) click Next.
- Click Next to start the installation.
- Click Close to exit.
- Load SolidWorks and check to see if the Duro icon appears in the SolidWorks Resources task pane tab on the right side of the application. If not, go to Tools, then select Add-ins and activate the Duro add-in.
