Objective: To interpret updates to your company's sourcing data within your Duro app.
Difficulty: Easy
In this article:
As your company's sourcing data fluctuates with market demand, cost structures, competitiveness, and profit margins, you need a way to highlight value increases, decreases, and everything in between. Enter Duro. We track changes to your sourcing values, highlighting pricing, lead times, and availability. Our goal is to make your data easy for you to read and digest.
Introduction to sourcing updates
Duro's integration with all major parts distributors lends itself to some very powerful features for managing your supply chain and staying aware of any issues that could delay a production run.
As demonstrated in the Import from Vendor feature, new components can be created using just a Manufacturer Part Number (MPN), which includes pulling in the latest sourcing details. This is efficient for creating a snapshot of pricing and lead times of distributor parts, but the data is static. As we know, pricing and lead times can change dynamically.
To update existing component sources with the latest values from distributors, simply select one or more source rows and press the Update button in the sources table toolbar. Duro will reconnect with the vendor listed in the source and retrieve the latest pricing, lead times, and availability information.
After retrieving the new values, visual indicators will display the status of the update for each selected row.
Successful Update
If Duro was able to successfully obtain new values from the selected vendor, the values will be updated and one of the following icons will be displayed next to the Unit Price or Quote Lead Time values.
No Change
If the Unit Price or Lead Time value has not changed since the last update, then a green checkmark will appear next to the respective value.
Value went up
If the Unit Price or Lead Time value increased since the last update, then a red arrow will be displayed next to the respective value and the text will turn red.
Value went down
If the Unit Price or Lead Time value decreased since the last update, then a green arrow will be displayed next to the respective value and the text will turn green.
Unsuccessful update
In the case Duro was not able to connect to the selected vendor, an issue indicator will be displayed in the leftmost column with possible corrective actions to take.
