In this article:
Why am I getting errors when releasing files in SolidWorks?
For SolidWorks PDM Users
The reasons why you might get errors when attempting to release files in the Duro SolidWorks Add-in include the following:
1. The revision already exists in the Duro web application.
- Files can only be released if the revision of the file does not already exist in the Duro web application. For example, if you want to release revision A of Part-X, then revision A of Part-X.SLDPRT (or revision A of Part-X.SLDDRW) cannot already exist in the Duro web application. Please change to the next revision in PDM and attempt to release again.
2. Files are checked-out.
- Files can only be released if all of the files of the same root name in SolidWorks are checked-in in PDM. For example, if you want to release Part-X, then Part-X.SLDPRT and any other SolidWorks source files with name Part-X (e.g. .SLDDRW) must be checked-in in PDM.
3. File workflow states are not set to "Approved" or "Released."
- Files can only be released if all of the files of the same root name have a workflow state that is set to "Approved" or "Released." For example, if you want to release Part-X, then Part-X.SLDPRT and any other SolidWorks source files with name Part-X (e.g. .SLDDRW) must have a workflow state of "Approved" or "Released." Files are not eligible for release if they have workflow state such as "Under Editing" or "Work in Progress."
