Overview
Duro PDM One provides a secure, cloud-based storage solution that enables teams to collaborate efficiently while maintaining version control. With check-in/check-out functionality, users can lock files for editing, preventing conflicts and ensuring a clear version history.
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up PDM One after purchase. After completing these steps, final activation must be completed by the Duro onboarding team to fully enable your system.
Requirements
- Duro CAD Add-in: For NX or SolidWorks.
Step 1: Initial User Account Setup
Each PDM One user will need to follow these steps on their machines:
1. Install the Duro CAD Add-in (NX or SolidWorks).
2. After authenticating your email and logging into the Duro web app for the first time, you'll arrive at the following screen. Ensure you've selected "Company Account.”
If you selected “Private Sandbox” by mistake, select “Exit Sandbox” at the top of your browser window.
Step 2: Local Vault Creation
1. Navigate to: C:\Users\<username>
2. Within your User Name folder, create a new folder for your PDM One vault. This vault can have any name.
3. (Optional) Pin the folder to Quick Access for easier navigation in the future.
4. Copy the file path of your newly created vault folder: C:\Users\<username>\<vault folder name>
Step 3: PDM One Config File Setup
At this point, follow the appropriate steps below for either SolidWorks or NX:
For SolidWorks Users
1. Navigate to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Duro Labs\Duro Labs SOLIDWORKS Add-In-V2
2. Open: DuroPDMConfig.txt
3. Replace the existing path for “DuroPdmBaseDirectory” with the vault folder path copied earlier, then save (it will not autosave).
4. Once the above set up is complete, submit a Zendesk ticket requesting activation of PDM One.
-
- Users who have completed the above steps will be set up once the Duro Team completes final activation.
- If additional users need to be added later, submit a Zendesk ticket with a list of users who need to be added.
For NX Users
1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Duro Labs\Duro Labs NX Add-In
2. Open: DuroPDMConfig.txt. Since this folder is usually write-protected, either:
- Use an application like Notepad++ to edit the file directly.
- Copy the file to your desktop, edit it, and then move it back.
3. Replace the existing path for “DuroPdmBaseDirectory” with the vault folder path copied earlier.
4. Save the file and ensure it is back in the original directory.
5. Once the above setup is complete, submit a Zendesk ticket requesting activation of PDM One.
- Users who have completed the above steps will be set up once the Duro Team completes final activation.
- If additional users need to be added later, submit a Zendesk ticket with a list of users who need to be added.
