Objective: Add an extra layer of security to your Duro account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
Difficulty: Easy
In this article:
Two-factor authentication (2FA) creates an extra layer of security for your Duro account to protect your designed components and assemblies. This process allows you to provide secondary verification of a login attempt using your mobile device and a 6-digit code. Easily enable or disable 2FA according to your preferences.
Activating 2FA
Although this is not required, Duro encourages users to enable 2FA. Administrators can enable and disable 2FA for the entire company through a simple activation link, thus enabling 2FA for all users. If your company's administration has not automatically required this, you will have the option to enable 2FA for yourself.
Follow the below steps to enable 2FA for your account.
- Navigate to the Duro Account page:
-
-
- For ITAR clients: https://auth.govduro.us/account/settings/
- For non-ITAR clients: https://auth.duro.app/account
-
- Click on Enable 2FA. This will populate a QR code.
- Download an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Authy on your mobile device.
- Once downloaded, open the authenticator app.
- Scan the QR code provided through Duro's login page. Ensure that you only have one active session/active code line. Having multiple open may interfere with your ability to enable 2FA.
- Enter the code provided and click on Enable 2FA. Ensure that there is not a space between each set of three digits (e.g., enter "184633" not "184 633"). Now, 2FA is enabled.
You have the option to have Duro remember your device for 14 days to skip entering the 6-digit code upon every sign-in attempt.
Disabling 2FA
Disabling 2FA on your account is just as easy as enabling it:
- Navigate to the Duro Account page:
-
-
- For ITAR clients: https://auth.govduro.us/account/settings/
- For non-ITAR clients: https://auth.duro.app/account
-
- Click on Disable 2FA. 2FA is now disabled.
