PDM One Trial

The PDM One Trial offers a streamlined introduction to our Product Data Management (PDM) solution. By utilizing a pre-configured demo environment, users can bypass typical setup procedures and quickly begin exploring PDM One's features. This article serves as a step-by-step guide to installing and configuring the necessary software components for your trial.

Overview

The PDM One Trial is designed to provide users with a hands-on experience of our PDM solution without the need for individualized setup. We have prepared a demo environment, so users do not need to configure Prismatic or Cloud Storage. This ensures you can quickly start using PDM One and explore its capabilities.

PDM One is compatible with both SolidWorks and NX integrations. CAD file storage for this trial will established on Box, the popular file storage platform. 

Setup

Please follow the steps below:

1. Download the latest Duro CAD Plugin.
   • Follow the directions as outlined in the SolidWorks CAD Installation Guide or the NX Installation Guide.
   • During Step 5 of the installation process, point to our staging environment:
     https://staging-gcp.durolabs.xyz/
     
2. Download the Box Client
3. Run Cloud Storage Client Installer.
   
   
4. Update the config file:
   • Locate the config file at: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Duro Labs\Duro Labs SOLIDWORKS Add-In-V2\DuroPdmConfig.txt

   • Set the DuroPdmBaseDirectory configuration value to your designated base storage folder. Ensure that all backslashes used in the path do not have a trailing backslash.

     • (Correct) C:\\Users\\kaden\\Box
     • (Incorrect) C:\Users\kaden\Box
     • (Incorrect) C:\\Users\\kaden\\Box\\PDM
       
5. Log in to both the Duro Plugin and Box using the username and password provided by your customer success representatives.
   
   If a Duro team member has not provided login credentials to you, please contact your customer success representative or open a support ticket. They will provide you with a form to gather information for your trial account, after which your account will be configured. Subsequently, a Username and password credentials for logging into PDM One will be sent to you via email.
   
   Once these procedures are completed, you can follow the setup instructions provided above.
